Last week we had to rush Alex, one of our teenage boys, to hospital for an emergency operation to remove his appendix.
Due to some complications Alex was kept in hospital for a few days. Thankfully Alex is now back at home and happily recovering but the operation, aftercare and medication has left us with a USD $1,500 (£1,100) bill to pay.
Our huge family of 35 kids, staff, volunteers and extended friends have decided to take part in this year’s 5k Carrera De Color (5k Color Run) on the 8th May 2016 to raise the necessary funds for Alex, but we need some global support to help us hit our target!
Please visit our MyDonate page and donate any spare change you may have, big or small, and send lots of cheers and good luck to our runners on the day.
Our Color Runners start the day in a white t-shirt, getting covered from head to toe in a rainbow of colours at each kilometre of the 5k course. All of Mision Mexico is taking part with the choice to run, walk, skip or dance their way around if they feel like it.
The Color Run, “The Happiest 5k on the Planet,” is a global event to promote healthiness and happiness bringing families and communities together.
It’s all about the fun and creating the biggest smiles for Alex to see!
Gracias from everyone at Mision Mexico!
